Copeland Richards’ criminal defense practice group is headed by J. George Guise, who, prior to joining Copeland Richards, worked for the United States Department of Justice in Charlotte, as a federal prosecutor with a focus on violent crimes and interstate and international drug trafficking offenses. A former state prosecutor in Georgia and North Carolina, with a breadth of knowledge from time spent with a big Atlanta law firm and as General Counsel at Davidson College, George brings significant analytical, investigative, and trial experience to the firm.
